My Journey to Fab Over 40

I’ve spent over 30 years working in the health and wellbeing space, supporting people through movement, fitness and lifestyle change. But it’s my lived experience — not just my training — that has most shaped the way I work today.

For many years, life looked full and functional from the outside. I was raising three children, working full-time, staying active and doing what was needed to keep everything moving. But underneath, I was carrying far too much. Family mental health challenges, illness, and the constant pressure to hold it all together slowly took their toll. I wasn’t just tired — I was disconnecting from myself and from life.

The turning point came when my daughter was hospitalised for the fifth time. In that moment, it became clear that if I didn’t make changes, I wouldn’t be able to keep showing up — for my family or for myself. I realised that pushing through wasn’t the answer. Something needed to shift.

I stepped away from what was draining me and returned to what had always grounded me: movement, presence, connection and community. What began as a personal need to stabilise and care for myself became the foundation for a much deeper understanding of how people truly change.

That period didn’t lead to perfection or a quick fix — it led to something far more sustainable. I began rebuilding my life in a way that felt aligned, human and real, learning to value safety, support and belonging as essential — not optional — ingredients for wellbeing.

As my own sense of balance returned, I deepened my professional training in health coaching, NLP, yoga, breathwork and nervous system–focused practices. Not to “fix” people, but to better understand what happens when individuals feel safe enough to slow down, supported enough to explore, and connected enough to be themselves.

What I’ve seen time and again is that confidence doesn’t come from pushing harder or doing more. It grows quietly in environments where people feel seen, supported and understood — where they’re allowed to arrive exactly as they are and know they belong.

Today, at 57, I feel more confident, connected and at home in myself than ever before. I run studio classes, workshops and retreats for people over 40 — including women-only and mixed experiences — with a focus on supportive movement, nervous system regulation, adventure, and genuine connection.

Whether it’s through strength training, yoga, health mentoring, wellbeing workshops or Offscript retreats in beautiful locations, my work is centred around creating safe, supportive spaces where people can reconnect with themselves, move well, and feel held as they navigate this next chapter of life.

I don’t believe in rigid programs or quick solutions. I believe in community, consistency, curiosity and care. And I believe that life over 40 can be rich, adventurous and deeply fulfilling — when we give ourselves permission to step out of routine and write a new script.

My intention is simple: To support people over 40 to feel safe, supported, connected — and like they truly belong.

Warmly,
Chrissy🧘‍♂️
